Role Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide practical assistance, personal care, companionship, and emotional support to clients in their homes and community settings. You will play a vital role in helping clients remain independent, safe, and engaged in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care Support

  • Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Support mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Assist with toileting and continence care.
  • Promote client dignity, privacy, and independence at all times.

Daily Living Assistance

  • Assist with meal preparation and nutrition support.
  • Help with light household tasks, including cleaning and laundry.
  • Support medication reminders as per care plans.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and community activities.

Companionship & Social Support

  • Provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with clients and families.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of care provided.
  • Report changes in client health, wellbeing, or circumstances.
  • Complete required documentation through CareLinc systems and mobile applications.

Health & Safety

  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Support, or equivalent.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • National Police Check (or equivalent background check).
  • Working rights in the applicable country.

Desirable

  • Experience in aged care, disability support, or community care.
  • Medication assistance certification.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Dementia care experience.
